So here’s roughly our plan of action:
We are going to Belize overland.
OK, a little more detail then.
Since currently there are three of the Blogin Dogs living with me, some of whom have assorted little phobias, and other possibly imagined issues, I can not in good conscience put them on an airplane. Never mind that I can’t put myself on an airplane either. Same reasons.
So we are driving. Through Mexico.
The Blogin Dogs all being on the large side, this is not feasible in a little passenger car without all of us having a REAL BAD time.
Also my property in Belize is fenced, and has utilities, but is otherwise empty. A girl has got to live somewhere. Dry. With cooking facility and running water. There is of course the option of renting while I get my house put up. But that would mean that no sooner that the Blogin Dogs get used to their new home, we up and move again. Not to mention eternally shuttling to and fro to see to it that the little prefab ends up facing the direction I have in mind. Deck to view, entrance to hill.
The purchase of a travel trailer and a large van to pull it solved pretty much all problems in one fell swoop: place to live on property, place to put Blogin Dogs for a very long road trip.
A very dear friend and his wife are helping me drive the roughly 2000 miles from Arizona to Belize. My friend will drive the van and have two of the Blogin Dogs with him. I will drive my little 4-wheel SUV with one.
Sounds all real swell, and do-able.
But the devil is in the details.
As you will see tomorrow ….
